Have your say about this weeks discussion Topic... > What Can I do to survive lectures better?

Ok so we're all in this together. We're all in the middle of the semester - in the absolute thick of things. And unlike the begining of the semester, I no longer have that perky attitude and drive that makes me want to go to class (that is to suggest I was interested in the first place - at least for the first 35min).

So since I've been at uni I've tried many methods of keeping myself sane and alert through those sometimes tediously long 3 hour seminars and lectures. I've tried drinking a can of V and Red Bull to no avail. I've tried eating which only cause me to make very loud chip packet rustling noises. I've tried (this is true) showing up to class after having a "few" alcoholic beverages - which only made me snore louder than I normally do.

Really I'm at a loss. What I can do? Or better yet, what have you tried and tested? (And did it fail miserably?) It's time to share - post a reply.

A classmate and I amuse ourselves by giving people names as they walk in the door. We've dubbed some prolific students Make-up girl, the twin blondies and Miss Attitude.

Very fun way to pass the day.

i think food always helps. at least uve got something to do then. After that, ur more energised! i guess if its a good lecture, u wont think about the time that much, especially if its really full on! I find it helps to go lectures with interesting lecturers who "spice" up things with their own take on life.

otherwise, just take it in!! theres not much more than that...thats life!!
